1)Geranium (1,3-Dimethylamylamine or Methylhexamine)

One of the most potent and effective stimulant compounds on the market today. Geranium promotes a response by the Central Nervous System, which causes feelings of energy, alertness, elevated mood, focus, and a drive to do high quality WORK. This compound is derived from natural sources, but has been shown to be stronger than even ephedrine - falling just short of the effects of the amphetamine family. All of this and Geranium remains completely legal!

2)Schizandrol A

3)Methylxanthines (Caffeine & Theophylline)

These stimulants work both on their own, and as "helpers" to the more potent stims listed above. Both are in the methylxanthine stimulant family. Like many other stims, they have a stimulant effect on the central nervous system, contributing to focus and energy while fighting fatigue and increasing the amount of time it takes to get to muscle failure.

The same way that caffeine has a synergistic effect on many stimulants such as ephedrine or amphetamines, it is also thought to potentiate the effects of Geranium. So rather than a simple 1 + 1 = 2 effect with these stimulants, it's more of a compound effect, where the methylxanthines work on their own while at the same time making the Geranium even more potent.

4)Beta-alanine

While the other compounds in USP Labs Jack3d supplement work on both mind and body, Beta-Alanine is a pre workout just for your muscles which affects Carnosine levels in your body.

As you may know, Carnosine is a dipeptide found in skeletal muscle and other "excitable" tissues in the body. It helps these tissues to function, allowing them to move longer and faster at a cellular level while also preventing acid build up in these same tissues and preventing fatigue. By increasing the levels of Carnosine in the muscles, you improve the ability of the muscles to do work, while at the same time prolonging the time taken to reach failure. 

Beta-alanine is what is known as a "rate-limiter" for carnosine. So by increasing beta-alanine levels in the body, you are increasing carnosine levels as a result. You might not feel the stimulant effect mentally from beta-alanine like you will with the more classical stims in Jack3d, but your muscles will feel the difference!

5)Creatine Monohydrate

Cellular energy levels in the muscles is a complicated topic. We've already covered mental stimulation and increased Carnosine levels, but now we need to get past one other cause of muscle fatigue. And once again, Jack3d has you covered. 

This last cause of muscle fatigue is lowered ATP in your muscle cells. ATP is a high energy nucleotide which is the major carrier of energy at a cellular level. When we work out, the ATP in our skeletal muscles loses a phosphate, and is converted to ADP. 

Creatine supplementation increases the intramuscular levels of phosphocreatine. This in turn makes a phosphate available to turn ADP back into ATP and get your muscular energy back to baseline levels, lowering fatigue and allowing you to lift more weight for a longer amount of time. 

Jack3d - What's NOT In It?

What's not in Jack3d is just as important as what is. A lot of pre workout supplements contain the following ingredients, which are COUNTERPRODUCTIVE to great work outs and massive gains.

1)MALTODEXTRIN (This Crap is Worse Than Sugar!)

Maltodextrin is anathema to gaining muscle and losing fat. It causes insulin levels to skyrocket and leads your body to start storing fat. As an athlete, you don't want that period. But with pre workout supplements that contain maltodextrin, you're getting a fat storing insulin spike right as you begin your workout, which is pretty much the worst possible time for it!

Maltodextrin will make you fat!

• •Maltodextrin has a glycemic index of 105 . By comparison, Glucose is 100 and Sucrose (plain old sugar, just like you'd find in soda) is only 61! 


• •Most of the top selling pre workout supplements contain large amounts of maltodextrin. 6 to 10 grams per scoop and up to 30 grams per serving is not uncommon. You might as well drink a can of Pepsi before you start your workout! 

• •Maltodextrin is a filler. It makes the package look bigger so that you think you're getting more. In fact, it just leads to higher shipping costs and has a DETRIMENTAL effect on your workout!


• •Many companies disguise the Maltodextrin in their pre workout supplements as "glucose polymers". Don't be fooled!

2)MAGNESIUM

Many of the top brands of pre workout supplements are loaded with excess magnesium. Jack3d is completely magnesium free. While we need some magnesium in our bodies, an excess can have a LAXATIVE effect. Many other pre workouts use magnesium as a filler.
